Cisco Meraki subscription licensing follows a hardware-agnostic approach, utilizing SKUs that encompass multiple hardware components within a single SKU. The purpose of this document is to outline the specific SKUs associated with the hardware covered under the MR product class. Additionally, this document will emphasize the key features offered by the MR product class, providing valuable insights to our customers.

Cisco Meraki cloud-managed access points provide wireless, security, location, and analytics services but only need a single license to support these features. MR licenses are model-agnostic and include MR Enterprise, MR Advanced, and MR Upgrade types.

MR Features by License Type

All Cisco Meraki access points require valid licensing to operate. MR Enterprise license covers the standard MR features, including but not limited to:

• Cloud management
• Zero-touch firmware upgrades
• Zero-touch provisioning
• 24x7 enterprise support
• RMA
• API support
• Bluetooth and ESL integration with SES-imagotag (supported on access points with the IoT radio)
• Meraki Health
• NBAR integration (minimum firmware and hardware requirements apply)
• Security features like Air Marshal, Layer 3 and Layer 7 firewall rules
• API Umbrella integration (requires a separate Cisco Umbrella license)
• And others

MR Advanced license includes all MR Enterprise features listed above plus additional ones, as noted below.
